A turning point for African publishing was reached in Nairobi, Kenya, in June, one that will shape the future of publishing across the continent in numerous ways—well before the close of the 21st century. The Lagos Action Plan of the International Publishers Association (IPA) and the African Union (AU) Draft Continental Book and Reading Policy Framework are poised to become game changers for how publishing is conducted across Africa.
