The 17th edition of the 72 Heures du livre (72 Hours of Books) in Conakry took place from April 23 to 25, 2025, at the Franco-Guinean Cultural Centre (CCFG), under the theme “The Power of Women.” This major literary event highlighted the crucial role of women in Guinean literature and culture while celebrating their invaluable contributions to society.

Rwanda was designated the guest of honour, Germany the distinguished guest country, and the city of Guéckédou, located in the Forest Guinea region, received special recognition. This edition was held under the high patronage of the transitional President, General Mamadi Doumbouya, and under the auspices of Prime Minister Bah Oury. The Ministries of Culture, Tourism and Crafts, as well as the Ministry for Women’s Promotion, Children, and Vulnerable People, co-sponsored the event.
