The 15th edition of the International Book Fair of Abidjan (SILA) was held from Tuesday 6th to Saturday 10th May 2025 at the Parc des Expositions in Abidjan, located in Port-Bouët. This year’s theme, “Books and Roots,” highlighted African and Afro-descendant literatures, with a particular focus on the historical and cultural links between Africa and its diaspora.
The Francophone Caribbean, including Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Saint-Martin, and Haiti, was chosen as the guest of honour, underlining the deep literary connections between African and Caribbean cultures. The Cavally region, situated in the Montagnes district of Côte d’Ivoire, was also in the spotlight, showcasing the country’s cultural and literary diversity.
